The Santurban paramo has become an example of community struggle to protect water sources successfully. Lawyers, community leaders and activists united to mobilized and demanded the protection of natural resources threatened by Vancouver-based Eco Oro projects. A palpable urgency surrounds this story because of the fragility of the paramo - high-altitude wetlands - which supplies fresh water to the vast regions around Bucaramanga.
Monica has worked with Mining Injustice Solidarity Network (MISN) for the past 3 years. She is passionate about the potential for art to tell stories of resistance and inspire action. She has worked as a producer and camera operator in various documentaries concerned with environmental and human rights issues in Canada and South America.
Zoe is a graduate of McGill and during her undergraduate degree worked extensively at the McGill Research Group Investigating Canadian Mining in Latin America (MICLA). Her passion about social justice issues led her to work with Projet Accompagnement Solidarité Colombie (PASC) and the RedHer network in Colombia.
Galen is a Director and Editor at 3004 Studios, a boutique production house focused on producing work related to environmental preservation, the vibrancy and importance of the arts, and profiles of youth leaders in Toronto.
Edgardo Moreno was spiritually born in a cross-fire coup d'etat. He writes music for film, television, contemporary dance and theatre. His compositions have been called compelling, haunting, driven and richly textured. Edgardo has also worked creating Sound Art and has participated and performed in Argentina, Sweden, Chile, Venezuela.

Our talented composer Edgardo Moreno is crafting special tracks for the documentary series. Once compositions are done, they will be merged into the edited stories, and sound mastering and design will be completed.
Once completed, this project will serve as an educational tool through a web platform and through the distribution of DVD's to colleges, universities and other educational spaces. Workshops are being offered to activist, student, social justice and union learning spaces.
